Hello, my name is Ethan Nguyen-Khoa, and I am a junior at Beckman High School. I had spent years preparing for a career in computer science, but while taking AP Biology as a freshman, I discovered I had a far deeper passion that stemmed from an innate curiosity about how life works from the most basic level. I immediately started exploring life sciences and was later a gold medalist in the Biology Challenge competition. In addition to biology, I enjoy watching science documentaries, playing tennis, practicing card tricks, singing while playing the piano, and playing card games with my family. As a Teaching Coach and Underclassmen Representative, my goal is to help others discover and deepen their passion for biology.

Hi! I'm Devon. I am currently a junior at Beckman High School. I have always had an interest in STEM, especially in biology and computer science. I am a two-time USABO semifinalist and have received the Semifinalist Certificate of Merit in 2022. I have also won a silver medal in the 2021 IMDO and was a finalist for the 2022 USMDO. Besides biology competitions, I have also been selected to represent Orange County for the CSEF competition and was chosen as one of the top 4 interns for the UCI HEART Internship Program in 2022.
Outside of biology and STEM, I also enjoy doing MUN, violin competitions, and swimming. I'm so proud to be a part of Beckman Biology Olympiad and to inspire others to learn biology.

I’m Lindsey Jiang, a sophomore at Beckman High School and Underclassmen Representative of Beckman Biology Olympiad. After challenging myself to dive deeper into the field of biology through various competitions such as the UK Biology Challenge and USABO, I have developed a deep love for the subject. Serving on the board of Beckman Biooly allows me to share this passion while making biology and the opportunities it may offer accessible to students at Beckman and beyond. In my free time, you can find me trying out the newest ramen recipe or listening to Chinese disco music.

Hi! My name is Madeleine Chang, and I am a sophomore at Beckman High School. Science has always been my all time favorite subject, but I really started getting into biology specifically while taking AP Bio. I really enjoy learning about the different processes that contribute to the complex world and make up life. By self studying, I was able to become a 2022 USABO semi-finalist, win gold in the British Biology Challenge, and an honorable mention from the International Biology Bowl. In addition to learning about science, I also enjoy acting, playing viola, watching movies, participating in MUN, the occasional run, and reading about world news. I’m so excited and grateful to be a part of Beckman Biology Olympiad and I hope we have an amazing year!!

Hello! My name is Timothy.  I am currently a junior at Beckman High School who is very passionate about learning in the field of STEM. At the moment, I am part of a robotics team in order to promote my interest in STEM and explore the field even further. I am proud to be part of the USABO club for Beckman and I'm excited to be able to encourage others to learn more about biology.

Hi, my name is Gerald Lu and I am a junior in Beckman High School. I enjoy learning about science and I want to explore it with other people. My hobbies include chess and sleeping. I am excited to attend Beckman Biology Olympiad with you.

Hello! My name is Timothy Chow and I am a junior at Beckman High school. I like playing in the drumline and also helping out the community in my free time. I am interested in the STEM field and I am especially intrigued by biology. As a teaching coach, I hope to be able to teach or tutor as many people who are interested in biology as possible and be the best at doing it. It is very nice to meet you all!

My name is Erin Song, a junior at Beckman High School. Besides academics, I also enjoy drawing, dancing, and singing. As a freshman, I took AP biology, which sparked my interest in this subject. During my sophomore year, I earned a gold award in the UK Biology Challenge. Through this club, I hope that I'm able to help and show the fun in learning biology, as well as the various interesting aspects and advantages that come with learning this subject.
